PM Modi Reviews Situation With Amit Shah, Condoles Deaths in Delhi Red Fort Blast

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the deaths in the powerful blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station that killed at least eight people and injured several others on Monday evening. The Prime Minister said he has reviewed the situation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and assured that all possible assistance is being provided to those affected.

In a post on X, Modi wrote, “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities. Reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and other officials.”

Investigation Underway

Following the blast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that investigation agencies are exploring all possibilities and will carry out a detailed inquiry into the explosion. The National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been called in to assist the Delhi Police in the probe.

As reported by the Delhi Fire Service, a call was received at 6:55 PM regarding an explosion and several vehicles catching fire near the Red Fort Metro Station. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the scene, and the blaze was brought under control by 7:36 PM. According to sources, six cars, four motorcycles, and three e-rickshaws were gutted in the fire.

High Alert in Capital

Security has been tightened across Delhi following the explosion. Teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell and local police are conducting preliminary investigations while high alert remains in force throughout the capital. Authorities continue to monitor key public areas and transport hubs to ensure safety.

Officials have stated that forensic teams are examining debris to determine the cause and source of the explosion. The government has assured that all necessary resources are being deployed to uncover the motive behind the blast and bring those responsible to justice.
