Mumbai Weather Update April 29: City Records 31°C Morning, Heat to Intensify

Mumbai: Mumbai experienced a warm start to the day on April 29, with temperatures already touching around 31°C in the morning hours, according to a report by Free Press Journal. The city woke up to clear skies and bright sunshine, indicating a hot day ahead for residents.

As the day progresses, temperatures are expected to climb further, likely reaching close to 37°C. Weather forecasts suggest that while no official heatwave has been declared, the combination of high temperatures and humidity will make conditions uncomfortable, especially during peak afternoon hours. The report by Free Press Journal highlights that people commuting or stepping outdoors may feel significant discomfort due to the intense heat and hazy sunshine.

The weather pattern is not limited to Mumbai alone. Nearby areas, including Thane and Navi Mumbai, are also expected to witness similarly warm conditions, with the mercury rising steadily throughout the day. The broader Mumbai Metropolitan Region is likely to experience persistent heat, making it essential for residents to take precautions while travelling or engaging in outdoor activities.

In terms of air quality, Mumbai recorded an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the ‘moderate’ category, hovering around 50–58. While this indicates acceptable air conditions for most people, certain pockets in the city reported varying levels, ranging from ‘good’ to ‘severe’. The report noted that areas such as Chandivali experienced significantly poorer air quality compared to other parts of the city.

Meanwhile, other regions of Maharashtra may see a shift in weather conditions, with forecasts predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in several districts. However, Mumbai and its surrounding areas are expected to continue experiencing hot and humid conditions.

Overall, the weather outlook suggests that the city will remain warm and slightly hazy, with no immediate relief from the rising temperatures.
