Rohullah Mehdi Arrested In Mumbai Drug Case

Mumbai: Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, known for his role in Shahid Kapoor starrer Deva, has been arrested by Mumbai police in connection with an alleged drug case. Police say 28 grams of MD, estimated to be worth around rs 5.6 lakh, were seized during the investigation.

The case is being handled by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch. According to the police, two people have been arrested and Mehdi has been named as the main accused in FIR No. 437/2026. A court has reportedly sent him to five days of police custody.

The investigation began after police received information about the alleged sale of drugs through social media platforms such as Snapchat and WhatsApp. Acting on the information, officers reportedly arranged a transaction using a decoy customer.

Police say a man named Kasif was contacted and allegedly arrived near Thakur Mall at Dahisar Check Naka to deliver MD. He was intercepted during the operation. During questioning, he reportedly told investigators that Mehdi was involved, prompting police to trace the actor.

Mehdi was later arrested outside a studio in Malad, where he was shooting, according to the police account.

Investigators are now trying to find out how extensive the alleged network was and whether Mehdi had supplied drugs to other people. Police are also looking into possible connections with individuals from the film and entertainment industry.

Mehdi, who is originally from Budgam in Jammu and Kashmir, was reportedly living in Goregaon, Mumbai. Besides his appearance in Deva, he has worked in web series and other screen projects.

The arrest has once again put the spotlight on the way social media platforms can allegedly be used to arrange drug transactions in Mumbai. Police are continuing to question those arrested and examine the evidence collected during the probe.

The operation was carried out by the Kashimira Police team under the supervision of DCP Zone 1 Rahul Chavan.

For now, however, the allegations remain part of an ongoing investigation. Being arrested or named as an accused does not mean Mehdi has been found guilty. The evidence presented during the legal proceedings will ultimately determine the outcome of the case.
