Trump Casts Doubt on Iran’s 14-Point Peace Proposal, Says Tehran Has Not Yet ‘Paid a Big Enough Price’

Donald Trump said on Saturday he would review a new peace proposal submitted by Iran but cast doubt over its prospects, warning that the United States could resume air strikes if Tehran “misbehaves.”

Iran’s 14-point peace proposal was reported by Iranian news outlets Tasnim and Fars, both believed to be close to Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard.

Speaking to reporters in Florida before boarding Air Force One, Trump said, “I’ll let you know about it later,” adding that officials were going to give him “the exact wording now.”

Shortly before addressing reporters, Trump posted on X: “Can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years.”

Iran, meanwhile, said it is prepared for both diplomacy and renewed conflict, placing the onus squarely on Washington as tensions remain unresolved despite a fragile pause in hostilities.

“Now the ball is in the United States’ court to choose the path of diplomacy or the continuation of a confrontational approach,” deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi told diplomats in Tehran, according to state broadcaster IRIB. “Iran, with the aim of securing its national interests and security, is prepared for both paths,” he said.
