
Shenzhen (China): India’s top doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty achieved a major feat on Chinese soil by defeating a Chinese combination in the final to win the China Masters title on Sunday.
Andhra Pradesh’s Satwik and Mumbai’s Chirag defeated China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu in a thrilling encounter after making a superb comeback. The Indian pair lost the opening game 11-21 but bounced back strongly to win the next two games 21-13, 21-17 and seal a memorable victory in the final. The match against the world No. 4 Chinese pair lasted one hour and 10 minutes.
This is Satwik-Chirag’s 10th BWF World Tour title. After finishing runners-up at the China Masters in 2023 and 2025, the Indian duo finally managed to lift the title in China.
It is their second title of the current season. They had recently won the Singapore Open title. Satwik-Chirag now lead their head-to-head record against Ting-Yu 3-0.
