BTS Jimin and Jungkook Celebrate Military Discharge with Heartfelt Fan Greeting

BTS members Jimin and Jungkook have officially completed their mandatory military service in South Korea, marking their return to civilian life on June 11, 2025, as reported by Financial Express. The duo, who served as active-duty soldiers in the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade since December 12, 2023, greeted fans and media at Sports Park in Yeoncheon, South Korea, just a day after bandmates RM and V were discharged.

The pair, known for their roles in the Disney+ travel series Are You Sure?!, appeared visibly moved as they faced a large crowd of BTS ARMYs, despite a prior warning from Big Hit Music urging fans not to gather at the discharge site due to safety concerns. Social media platforms, particularly X, were flooded with emotional reactions, with fans posting messages like “Welcome Home Jimin, Jungkook” and expressing excitement about the duo’s return. One fan tweeted, “I still can’t believe, we survived this long drought. We did it guys, WE DID IT. Jimin and Jungkook are finally here with us,” capturing the collective joy.

Jimin and Jungkook, affectionately dubbed “JiKook” by fans, displayed their characteristic charm with shy smiles and giggles while holding bouquets of flowers, as noted in posts on X by accounts like @btsmemeories. Their lighthearted demeanor resonated deeply with supporters, with comments highlighting their happiness and anticipation for a full BTS reunion. Another fan remarked, “Omg the BTS comeback is gonna be epic and phenomenal,” reflecting the high expectations for the group’s future.

With Jin and J-Hope already discharged in 2024, only Suga remains in service, set to complete his duties on June 21, 2025. The BTS ARMY eagerly awaits the septet’s full reunion, a milestone not seen since their hiatus announcement following the BTS FESTA 2022 celebrations.
