A Mathura woman allegedly drugged her husband with sedative-laced milk, then crushed his skull with a stone — with her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend helping her do it, police said Saturday (August 9).
The body was reportedly taken to a forest near the Yamuna and burned and buried there. Search teams have spent three days combing the area and still haven’t found it.
SSP Shlok Kumar said the three accused are in custody and being questioned as the search continues. The case broke open after the victim’s elder brother, Rambabu, filed a complaint naming his sister Naina, her daughter Bhakti, and Bhakti’s boyfriend Vimal Chaudhary in the death of Naina’s husband, Manoj Soni.
Police believe the motive traces back to a fight over Bhakti’s relationship. Manoj had reportedly caught the two together and objected, and the arguments never really stopped after that.
Manoj Vanished in April — the Case Took Months to Register
Manoj went missing on April 18. Naina filed a missing-person report three days later, then withdrew it the next day — investigators are looking closely at that detail.
Weeks went by with no trace of him. Rambabu filed a second complaint and eventually took the matter to the Chief Minister’s grievance portal. Police didn’t register a criminal case until July.

The complaint alleges the accused later told relatives what they’d done: taken Manoj’s body to the forest near Akrur village, burned it, buried what was left.
Rambabu says Naina confessed to her father, Brajmohan, after he pressed her about Manoj’s disappearance and about her behavior, which he found strangely indifferent. She allegedly mixed sedatives into her husband’s milk, then crushed his head once he was unconscious. Bhakti and Vimal are accused of helping with what came after moving the body, burning it, burying it.
Search for the Body Continues
Police haven’t officially called this a murder yet they can’t, without a body. Teams are covering a six-kilometre stretch between the family home and the Yamuna, but heavy rain has slowed the digging. The three accused remain in custody as the investigation continues.
