A strong Western Disturbance is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir over the next 36 hours, bringing widespread moderate to heavy rain showers across the UT.
Windstorm may…
As per experts, the unstable weather condition is due to the fresh western disturbance in the Mediterranean region which is why the moisture into the Himalayas triggers the rain in plains and snow in the mountainous region.
Fresh snowfall will be witnessed in the region of Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam while in the plains of Kashmir valley and Jammu rain showers are expected to come. Moreover, mountain passes and highways might face slippery roads and less visibility due to the weather. Due to snowfall and rain travelling will be disrupted especially in the hilly region.
Recommendations to the travellers while travelling in Jammu:
- Make sure you keep checking real-time weather updates.
- Be cautious if you are planning to go to high altitude destinations.
- Avoid unnecessary travel in the mountainous areas.
- Must carry winter essentials as the weather might not be favourable for you to adapt.
- Be flexible with travel plans because there are chances of possible delays or cancellations while moving out.
