“We Just Want to Win”: Trump Signals Escalation, Promises to Hit Iran “Very Hard”

According to estimates, the bombing may happen as early as this weekend. US President Donald Trump has threatened to launch “very hard” new strikes on Iran.

The Wall Street Journal said that Trump has given the military orders to launch a new attack on Iran in an effort to force Tehran to surrender. Trump stated, “We will be hitting them very hard…And at some point, they will say we just can’t take it anymore,” on Friday at a Cabinet meeting at the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland.

“… I think we just want to win,” he continued.

Trump further remarked that he is “losing faith” in Iran because they “lie and misinterpret.”

Officials claim that the US and Israel are preparing one of the most intense bombing attacks to history against Iran’s refineries and key infrastructure targets, according to CBS. If hit, this might be the first time Israel resumes to military activities, which it had paused during the fragile US-Iran peace.

Officials were debating finishing the strikes by the time financial markets open on Monday because to the concern about how it might effect the US and worldwide economy, but there was no end point to the talks, the article claimed.

According to reports, the Israelis have been informed and are working with the United States.

However, Trump has not yet issued a final “go” order for the strikes.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS shortly after Trump’s comments that the US “will win, and Iran will not have a nuclear weapon under his watch.”

Sean Parnell, the chief spokeswoman for the Pentagon, added that the Department of War is “locked and loaded.”

A truce was achieved last month in the conflict, which started on February 28 after joint US and Israeli military assaults on Iran. But the US and Iran kept attacking one another, which led to tremendous instability in the region.

Iran then sealed the Strait of Hormuz, stopping vital maritime shipments of fertilizer, natural gas, and crude oil. Iranian missile and drone attacks on Persian Gulf countries seriously disrupted operations and the economy. This grew even further this week after drone attacks at the port of Damietta, Egypt, targeted two ships transporting liquefied natural gas.
