Gujarat Monsoon News: Surat’s Palsana Soaked with 3.5 Inches Rain, Red Alert Declared in 6 Districts

Gujarat Monsoon Update: Over the past 24 hours, rainfall has drenched 115 talukas across 32 districts in Gujarat, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre in Gandhinagar. Surat’s Palsana recorded the highest rainfall at 3.5 inches, followed by 2.99 inches in Banaskantha’s Vav and 1.5 inches in Dharmpur, as per official records.

Red Alert for Six Districts from 4 PM

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat today, July 4, 2025. A red alert has been issued for Kutch, Patan, Surendranagar, Botad, Amreli, and Rajkot from 4 PM for three hours. Meanwhile, an orange alert is in place for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Morbi, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Gir Somnath.

The state is expected to experience a rainy spell for the next seven days. South Gujarat districts are likely to see heavy to very heavy rainfall, while Saurashtra and Kutch can expect light to moderate showers. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea due to rough weather conditions.

July 5 Forecast: On July 5, an orange alert has been issued for Sabarkantha and Aravalli, while a yellow alert for heavy rainfall covers Banaskantha, Mehsana, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.

July 6 Forecast: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted across most of Saurashtra and South Gujarat on July 6. An orange alert is in place for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli, with a yellow alert for Kutch, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad.

July 7–9 Forecast: From July 7 to 9, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, and Dahod, as per the IMD’s projections.
