Netanyahu Mocks Death Rumours With Coffee Video, As Iran Vows To Hunt Him Down

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed viral claims that he was killed in an Iranian strike, posting a lighthearted video of himself ordering coffee at a cafe while joking about the false reports circulating on social media.

The speculation gained traction online after conspiracy theories alleged that Netanyahu had died and that a recent televised appearance was AI-generated. In response, the Israeli PM posted a video on X to demonstrate he was alive and continuing his duties.

Seated at a cafe, Netanyahu quipped about the rumours using a common Hebrew expression. “I am dead for coffee,” he said —a phrase meaning one loves something very much. He also added, “I love my nation to death,” praising Israelis for how they have conducted themselves through the ongoing crisis.

Netanyahu Holds Up Both Hands to Debunk Six-Finger AI Theory

The Israeli PM also took aim at a separate viral claim alleging that a press conference he held earlier in the week was artificially generated. A widely shared video purportedly showed him with six fingers on one hand, fuelling speculation that the footage was fake. Netanyahu briefly raised both hands toward the camera in the new clip, showing ten fingers and mocking the claim outright.

His office had also moved to quash the rumours earlier on Saturday. “These are fake news; the Prime Minister is fine,” a statement from his office read.

Iran’s IRGC Vows to Pursue and Kill Netanyahu

Even as Netanyahu laughed off the online theories, Tehran issued a serious threat on Sunday. Iran’s state news agency, the Islamic Republic News Agency, posted on X that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had vowed to track down the Israeli prime minister. “IRGC vows to pursue and kill ‘child-killer’ Netanyahu if he is still alive,” the agency wrote.

The threat was issued as Iran pressed ahead with retaliatory attacks across the Gulf region. Reports indicated that cluster munitions had been launched toward Israel. Israeli forces and the United States have simultaneously continued carrying out strikes on Iranian targets.
