Galle: India registered a memorable 165-run victory over hosts Sri Lanka in the first Test of the series here.
In the final stages of the match, spinner Manav Suthar (23.4-2-55-6) produced a sensational spell. He took four wickets in just 10 balls to finally end Sri Lanka’s resistance. Fortunately for India, the rain also did not come to the hosts’ rescue.
Manav, who hails from Rajasthan, made his Test debut against Afghanistan two months ago. He also claimed six wickets in the first innings of that match and eventually won the Player of the Match award.

Today, Manav took three wickets in one over shortly before the end of the match and then returned for his next over to claim the final wicket with the fourth ball.
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 206 in their second innings while chasing a target of 372 runs.
Prasidh Krishna took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja claimed one wicket each.
The second Test will be played in Colombo from August 23.
