Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store reported on Wednesday that a drone nearly struck a plane transporting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from Moldova to Oslo for the funeral of Norway’s King Harald. “A drone nearly struck his aircraft as it was departing Moldova. “He lives in that reality,” Store said to NRK, a national broadcaster in Norway. He didn’t elaborate on the incident.
Zelensky met with Store, Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg, and Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Tuesday nite after arriving in Oslo to discuss Norwegian military assistance, particularly air defense support, and civilian help.
Zelensky attended King Harald’s burial on Wednesday along with a number of other international dignitaries. King Harald passed away on August 28 at the age of 89.
Store told news agency NRK that Zelensky departed Norway following the funeral and traveled to Canada to meet with leaders there.
