Kahramanmaras: A tragic shooting at a school in Turkey has left four people dead and around 20 others injured, marking a disturbing escalation in violence just a day after a similar incident, as reported by Moneycontrol. The back-to-back attacks have raised serious concerns about safety in educational institutions across the country.
According to reports cited by Moneycontrol, the latest shooting occurred in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaras. Local authorities confirmed that the attacker was a student who carried out the assault using firearms reportedly belonging to his family. Among those killed was a teacher, while several students were also injured in the incident. The attacker also died during the course of the incident.
Officials stated that emergency services responded quickly, and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Investigations are currently underway to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear.
This incident comes just a day after another shooting at a school in Turkey’s Sanliurfa province, where a former student opened fire and injured at least 16 people before taking his own life, as previously reported by Moneycontrol.
Authorities and local media have highlighted that such incidents are rare in Turkey, making the occurrence of two shootings in quick succession particularly alarming. The developments have sparked widespread concern among parents, educators, and officials, prompting discussions around school safety and access to firearms.
The government has launched investigations into both incidents, and further details are expected as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the attacks. As reported by Moneycontrol and other agencies, the events underline the urgent need for heightened vigilance and preventive measures in schools.
