The seismic event occurred at a depth of approximately 9 kilometres (5.59 miles), indicating a relatively shallow quake capable of being felt across nearby areas.

The tremor originated close to the small community of Silver Springs and sent noticeable vibrations through parts of the surrounding region. Initial information shared by the USGS confirmed the magnitude and depth of the earthquake but did not immediately provide further details regarding damage, casualties, or infrastructure impact.

Reports highlighted that earthquakes of this magnitude can cause moderate shaking, depending on the proximity to the epicentre and local geological conditions. However, there were no immediate confirmations of significant destruction or injuries at the time the report was published.

The incident was part of ongoing seismic activity commonly observed in the western United States, a region known for tectonic movements. Authorities and monitoring agencies continue to assess the situation while keeping track of potential aftershocks that may follow such events.

As per Hindustan Times, the USGS remains the primary agency responsible for tracking and providing updates on seismic activity in the region. Further information is expected as officials evaluate the impact and gather data from affected areas.
