Heavy Rain in Ahmedabad: Thaltej Records 4 Inches, Bopal 3 Inches in Last 24 Hours; Showers Continue in 4 Areas Today
Ahmedabad has witnessed a heavy spell of rainfall over the past 24 hours, with the city’s western and north-western zones bearing the brunt of the downpour, according to data released by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). However, the intensity has eased since this morning, with rain taking a pause across most parts of the city.
Top 10 Rainfall Areas in Last 24 Hours
Thaltej recorded the city’s highest rainfall at 4.09 inches over the past 24 hours, followed by Bopal at 3.90 inches, Bodakdev and Asarva both at 3.82 inches, Science City at 3.76 inches, Chandlodiya at 3.72 inches, Motera at 3.64 inches, Kalupur at 3.54 inches, Ranip at 3.39 inches, and Dudheshwar at 3.37 inches.
Meanwhile, in the two-hour window between 6 am and 8 am today, rainfall paused across most of the city, though scattered showers continued in parts of the south-west zone. Only four areas recorded any rainfall during this period, meaning the remaining six areas on the top-10 list for the window logged zero rainfall.
6 AM to 8 AM Figures
Bakrol recorded the highest rainfall in this window at 0.41 inches, followed by Sarkhej Urban Health Centre at 0.28 inches, Jodhpur Zonal at 0.20 inches, and Sarkhej at 0.08 inches. The remaining six areas making up the top-10 list Odhav, Virat Nagar, Nikol, Chandkheda, Gota and Maninagar recorded no rainfall at all during the 6 am to 8 am period.
