China Landslide: 5 Dead, 12 Still Missing After Village Buried in Gansu Province

BEIJING: At least five people have died and 12 others remain missing after a devastating landslide struck a village near Longnan city in China’s northwestern Gansu province on Tuesday (July 7).
Authorities initially reported that 33 people were missing after the landslide hit the area. Rescue teams later located 21 trapped individuals, but five of them succumbed to their injuries despite receiving emergency medical treatment.

Search and rescue operations are continuing as emergency personnel work to locate the remaining 12 missing people.
