Cameras Capture Diplomatic Drama : Iran Walks Out, Vance Looks On

New York : The first round of crucial talks between Iran and the United States in Switzerland began on a tense note on Sunday. Iran refused to join a planned photo session with US officials and later left the meeting venue in protest after US President Donald Trump made fresh threats of military action against Tehran.

Organisers and members of the US delegation had planned a handshake and joint photo session between the two sides before talks began. However, a video captures this striking moment as Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi appears to quietly relay a message to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif before abruptly turning and walking out of the room with the Iranian delegation.

As the atmosphere turns tense, the camera shifts to US Vice President JD Vance, whose expression suggests he has taken note of the unfolding scene from just a few feet away. Vance then approaches Sharif and Munir, with the three appearing to engage in a brief discussion, seemingly focused on Araghchi’s sudden departure and the message that preceded it.

Despite the tensions, Iranian and American officials briefly found themselves in the same room. Footage from the venue showed Araghchi entering a room where US Vice President JD Vance and members of his delegation, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were present. The Iranian foreign minister greeted Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a handshake and an embrace before the two exchanged a few words.

“Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. A source cited by Press TV said Iranian negotiators had formally raised objections with the American side. The first round of talks lasted about 80 minutes before the Iranian delegation withdrew for internal consultations.
