Faridabad : A 29-year-old school teacher was stabbed to death in broad daylight inside a private school in Haryana’s Faridabad on Monday, in an attack that was captured on CCTV cameras. The victim, Sandhya, was employed at Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Sikrona village. Police said she arrived at the school around 9.30 am as usual when the accused, with his face covered by a white cloth, entered the campus and asked to meet her.
Investigators said Sandhya sustained more than 20 stab wounds, with preliminary findings indicating she was stabbed 27 times. Most of the injuries were on her face, neck, chest and abdomen. CCTV footage of the attack, which has gone viral on social media, shows the masked accused waiting inside the school premises for several minutes before launching the assault. The footage has also raised questions over the school’s security, as no security guard is visible and no one appears to challenge the man’s presence despite him loitering inside the campus.
In one of the most shocking moments captured on camera, school administrator Tejpal rushed to intervene. However, the attacker allegedly threatened him with the knife, forcing him to back away before returning to stab Sandhya again. He then fled the school premises. By the time other staff members reached the spot, Sandhya was lying motionless. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
“I tried to stop him and shouted, ‘What are you doing? Stop!’ But he charged at me with the knife. I looked for something to defend myself with, but by then he had attacked her multiple times and escaped,” Tejpal said. He added that the accused fled on a motorcycle without a number plate that had been parked outside the school. Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that Amit had known Sandhya for nearly two years after studying at a private school in her village.
According to investigators, Sandhya had recently warned Amit that she would approach the police over his alleged harassment. She had also filed a molestation complaint against him a few days earlier, after which he had publicly apologised. Police suspect the murder was an act of revenge linked to that complaint.
