‘Come to Dadar, Bring a Gas Cylinder’: Boman Irani Has Conditions For Hosting Trump’s Iran Talks
Boman Irani has a peace proposal for Donald Trump. The meeting just isn’t happening in Washington. The actor posted a video on Instagram that’s been making the rounds, built entirely on the fact that his surname sounds like the country Trump is currently at war with. Trump wants to talk to “the Iranis”? Irani’s in. So, apparently, are Smriti Irani and Aruna Irani.
“Baatchhit ho rahi hai, ek Smriti ji ke sath, Aruna Irani ji ke sath, aur main, Boman Irani ke sath,” he said, keeping a straight face throughout.
He’s ready to help, he says peace is peace but he’s not getting on a plane. Trump’s delegation can come to Dadar Parsi Colony. If Trump himself shows up, even better. Dhansak, custard, the whole spread.
Then: “And if he brings along a gas cylinder, it will make my life very, very smooth for all of us.”
That line got the loudest response. LPG supply has been squeezed across India since the Iran-US conflict broke out, and the gas cylinder has become a low-grade stress in a lot of homes. Nobody needed the punchline explained. The comments filled up quickly fans, industry people, the usual.
