BPCL Assures Gujarat Residents: Fuel And LPG Supply Is Steady, Panic Buying Unnecessary
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has issued a public statement to counter circulating rumours about a shortage of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG cylinders in Gujarat. The company says all fuel stations and LPG distribution centres across the state are operating normally and are adequately stocked.
BPCL urged consumers not to panic-buy or hoard fuel. “Our supply chain is strong and capable of meeting customer needs,” the company said in its official statement, adding that there is no reason for concern.
According to BPCL, every fuel station and LPG distribution point it operates in Gujarat is fully functional. The company said its supply chain remains intact and is running without disruption.
BPCL is India’s second-largest oil marketing company, holding Maharatna status from the Government of India. It runs refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina, with a combined refining capacity of around 35.3 million metric tonnes per year. Across India, the company operates more than 23,500 petrol stations and over 6,200 LPG distribution centres.
On the energy transition front, BPCL has already set up EV charging stations at more than 6,500 of its fuel outlets and has set a target to become a net-zero energy company by 2040, with ongoing investments in green energy and sustainable infrastructure.
