Ahmedabad Accident: Electric Moped Rider Killed After Coming Under School Bus Near Shastrinagar Crossroads

Ahmedabad: A 20-year-old moped rider died near Shastrinagar Crossroads in Ahmedabad on Friday after skidding and falling under the rear wheel of a moving school bus.

The victim, identified as Yuvraj, died on the spot on the stretch connecting Prabhat Chowk and Shastrinagar. Eyewitnesses said the road was left covered in blood.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had dug a trench on that stretch about a week earlier for pipeline work. It was still open when the accident happened.

The Delhi Public School bus was turning left beside the excavation site. Yuvraj, riding behind it, braked suddenly, skidded, and fell under the rear wheel.

The bus was carrying students at the time. The driver and conductor fled right after the accident, leaving the bus behind with the children still inside. A crowd gathered. Police were called, and have registered a case. They’re now searching for the driver and conductor. Residents are accusing civic authorities of negligence over the open excavation and demanding accountability.
