A devastating road accident claimed five lives on Friday in Valsad district of Gujarat, when a truck and an Eco car collided head-on near Kumbhghat in Kaprada taluka.
The crash occurred on the Kaprada-Nanapondha highway, when the Eco car carrying residents from Amba Jungle village in Kaprada taluka was travelling from Kaprada towards Nanapondha. The vehicle was struck by a truck near Kumbhghat, killing five occupants on the spot. Two others sustained serious injuries in the impact.
Local residents in the vicinity rushed to the scene immediately after the accident to provide assistance. With the help of locals and police personnel, the individuals trapped inside the mangled car were pulled out. The two critically injured survivors were swiftly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
All those involved in the accident were residents of Amba Jungle village, located in Kaprada taluka of Valsad district. Police have reached the site and further investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
