Gujarat Budget 2025-26 : Record Budget Of Rs. 4,08,053 Crore Presented, What Did Women Farmers Get?

Gandhinagar : Finance Minister Kanu Desai presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27, which determines the future of the state, on the third day of the budget session of the Gujarat Assembly. Finance Minister Kanu Desai has set a new record by presenting the budget for the fifth consecutive time. In which, especially the housing scheme, Anganwadi centers and the creation of 5 new GIDCs have been announced. Gujarat’s record budget of 4,08,053 crores has been announced.

With a firm resolve to link women’s empowerment with economic self-reliance, the state government has given special priority to the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ campaign. A provision of ₹47 crores has been made to expand self-employment activities run by women in both rural and urban areas, start new businesses and scale-up existing businesses.

Sakhi Mandal Self-Help Groups have become the strongest base for women’s empowerment today. I am making a provision of ₹45 crore for interest subsidy and incentive support on bank loans to expand and scale up the business of self-help groups. ₹972 crore under the supplementary nutrition scheme to provide hot breakfast and meals in Anganwadi to children aged 3 to 6 years and take home ration to children, adolescents and pregnant and lactating mothers.

With the effective implementation of Namo Lakshmi Yojana, there has been a significant increase in the school enrolment of girl students studying in standard 9 to 12 in the last two years. For which a provision of ₹1250 crore has been made. To encourage women representation, I am announcing a new “Namo Kaushalya Lakshmi Yojana” for all girls studying in ITIs of the state. For which a provision of ₹40 crore has been made.

Ganga Swarupa Economic Assistance Scheme is in force to provide monthly assistance through DBT to widows to help them financially. For which a provision of ₹2848 crore has been made. For all-round and balanced development in the state, an economic master plan has been prepared for 6 regions namely South Gujarat, Central Gujarat, North Gujarat, Saurashtra, coastal area of ​​Saurashtra and Kutch. Under which projects have been prepared as per the needs of each region. This will encourage economic activities, employment generation and capital investment. For which I am making a provision of ₹2000 crore.

The government is firmly resolved to accelerate development works through the Developed Gujarat Fund of 50 thousand crores. As part of which, a provision of ₹10 thousand crores has been made in the Developed Gujarat Fund this year. Long-term and ambitious projects will be undertaken for the development of the state under the Developed Gujarat Fund. I am making a provision of another ₹3000 crores for the Namo Shakti Expressway and Somnath Dwarka Expressway projects connecting important places in the state. This project will become a highway with a confluence of culture and tourism.

The growing Semicon hubs at Dholera and Sanand are giving Gujarat an important place in the world map in the field of Chip manufacturing. Which will become the main pillar of India’s Semicon self-reliance. The Logistics and Trunk Infrastructure Project is being implemented under Phase-1 at Dholera SIR. In which, Dholera Airport, modern roads, water and wastewater treatment, underground power distribution and smart ICT facilities are being developed. Due to which Dholera will become a global hub of future industry, innovation and employment. For which a total provision of ₹610 crore including the Developed Gujarat Fund.

A total provision of ₹1237 crore for the Sujalam Suflam Pipeline Project to divert the water of Narmada flowing into the sea to the dry regions of North Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, ₹473 crore for the Sauni Project and ₹1333 crore for the Kutch Project. The first phase of providing irrigation facilities to the remote villages of Nalkantha area of ​​Ahmedabad district through pipeline and canal has been completed and the second phase has been started. For which a provision of ₹958 crore has been made.
