‘Tumbbad 2’ First Look Out: Sohum Shah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui Starrer Set For December 2027 Release

The makers of Tumbbad 2 have officially confirmed the release date of the much-anticipated sequel, announcing that the film will arrive in cinemas on December 3, 2027, as reported by The Times of India. The announcement comes after weeks of speculation and teaser campaigns that kept audiences intrigued about the project’s timeline.

According to The Times of India, the sequel follows the renewed popularity of the original Tumbbad, which saw a successful theatrical re-release in 2024. The film’s return to cinemas helped revive interest in its unique blend of folklore, mythology, and horror, setting the stage for the next chapter.

Actor-producer Sohum Shah, who played a key role in establishing the film’s identity, is set to return for the sequel. This time, the project also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, adding further anticipation among fans. The makers aim to expand the narrative universe introduced in the first film while preserving the eerie tone and immersive storytelling that made it a cult favourite.

Speaking about the sequel, Sohum Shah shared that Tumbbad 2 will take the story forward by exploring deeper layers of its mythology while retaining the essence of the original. Director Adesh Prasad echoed similar sentiments, stating that continuing a story with such a strong legacy presents both excitement and challenges. He emphasised that the team’s focus is on maintaining the film’s core identity while offering audiences a richer and more expansive cinematic experience.

The sequel is being produced under Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with Pen Studios. With the release date now locked, attention is expected to shift towards promotional activities and further updates about the film’s storyline and visuals.
