
On July 26, actor Suneil Anand, the late actor-filmmaker Dev Anand’s son, passed away in London from a heart attack. He was seventy. Gina Narang, Suneil’s niece, announced the news in a statement, saying, “Our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand with heavy hearts.” We are genuinely appreciative of the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, which gives us comfort. We respectfully ask for privacy as we work through this trying period together.
Dev Anand’s close friend Mohan Churiwala told PTI that his sister Devina Anand was en route to London and confirmed the cause of Suneil Anand’s demise.
He died of a heart attack in London on July 26. Devina, the daughter of Dev Sahab, is traveling to London, Mohan informed PTI.
Suneil Anand made his acting debut in Anand Aur Anand (1984), which was directed by the renowned actor-filmmaker Dev Anand, after helping his father on a number of his directing endeavors in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Later, he acted in Vijay Anand’s Main Tere Liye (1989), Sameer Malkan’s Car Thief (1986), and his first feature film, Master (2001), however none of the movies were box office successes.
Suneil Anand assumed leadership of the production company Navketan Films when Dev Anand passed away in 2011.
