Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Sets New Benchmark – Rs 45 Crore Opening Day Advance Bookings Stun Trade

Tom Holland’s latest outing as the web-slinger is already rewriting box office history in India days before its theatrical release. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the new Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures superhero spectacle, has registered unprecedented advance ticket sales, overtaking the long-standing record held by Avengers: Endgame.

According to the latest trade estimates, the film has sold tickets worth more than Rs 85 crore gross for its opening weekend, with over Rs 45 crore generated from opening day pre-sales alone. Industry trackers now expect it to surpass the Rs 90 crore gross bookings mark previously set by Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Some analysts even predict it could become the first Hollywood release in India to cross the Rs 100 crore pre-sales milestone before the weekend ends.

In terms of admissions,Endgame still holds the highest first-day ticket sales record among Hollywood films in India with around 10.25 lakh tickets. It was followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home (5.50 lakh) and Avengers: Infinity War (4.86 lakh). Brand New Day is now positioning itself to challenge these benchmarks.

Advance bookings remain strong across multiplex chains, especially in premium formats such as IMAX and 4DX in major cities. The film has already recorded nearly 39 per cent occupancy for its opening day.

Globally, the numbers are equally impressive. In China, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has posted the biggest opening day for any film since Avengers: Endgame, collecting USD 35 million. It is tracking for a USD 130–150 million haul by Sunday the best opening for any Hollywood title in China this decade.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day released in Indian cinemas on July 30 in multiple languages. With such record-breaking pre-sales, the film is firmly on course for the biggest Hollywood opening ever in India.
