Tamil actor Ravi Mohan, also known as Jayam Ravi, has sparked fresh controversy with an emotional press conference addressing his ongoing divorce from wife Aarthi Ravi and the intense public scrutiny surrounding his association with singer and therapist Keneeshaa Francis.
In the Chennai interaction, Ravi Mohan announced he would step away from acting until the divorce proceedings conclude. He described the past two years as deeply exhausting, citing persistent cyberbullying as a major personal toll. The actor, who broke down during the meeting, declared he had remained silent long enough and would no longer tolerate tests of his patience.
Ravi Mohan recounted significant marital struggles, stating he had married against his parents’ wishes and was now facing the consequences. In a striking disclosure, he revealed that he had once slit his wrists yet reported to a film shoot the following day, underscoring his professional commitment. He also expressed distress over being unable to meet his sons, claiming they were accompanied by bodyguards.
Soon after clips from the press conference circulated widely, Aarthi Ravi issued a strong rebuttal on Instagram. In her post, she warned, “You never wake a sleeping lion. God help if she’s a mamma lion,” emphasizing that her dignified silence should not be mistaken for weakness. She added that she would emerge from her comfort zone and present the truth if necessary to safeguard her children and her dignity, affirming that truth ultimately prevails.
Her message drew support from actor-politician Khushbu Sundar, who commented, “Never mess with a mother. And you are a lioness with her cubs. More power to you my baby.” The situation escalated when Ravi Mohan appeared to reference a “three-letter idli actress” in remarks many interpreted as directed at Khushbu, prompting her to post a cryptic response online.
Ravi and Aarthi married in 2009 after dating for several years and share two sons.
