3 Children, 3 Colleges, 3 Goodbyes: Farah Khan Gets Emotional As Triplets Leave Home
Farah Khan is going through one of those moments every parent knows is coming, but is never quite ready for.
Mumbai: The filmmaker and choreographer has said goodbye to her triplets, Czar, Diva and Anya, as they leave Mumbai to begin college in the United States. And this is not just one goodbye. The three siblings are heading to different universities in different cities, making the moment even more emotional for their mother.
Farah shared a series of family photos on Instagram as the children prepared to leave for their new lives abroad. She used the Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna title track along with the pictures, perfectly capturing the mix of happiness and sadness that comes with watching children grow up and leave home.
“3 cities, 3 campuses..3 goodbyes! 3 pieces of my heart,” Farah wrote in her post.
The three siblings are also taking very different academic paths. Diva is headed to Babson College to study Entrepreneurship and Finance. Anya will study Economics and Data Science at New York University, while Czar is joining Emory University for a course focused on Artificial Intelligence in Business.
The move comes just a few months after another big milestone for the family. In May 2026, the triplets graduated from Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. Farah had shared pictures from their graduation at the time and opened up about how proud she was of them.
Czar, Diva and Anya were born on February 11, 2008, to Farah Khan and filmmaker Shirish Kunder. Over the years, Farah has often shared glimpses of life with her children, from family celebrations to their school milestones.
Now, with all three starting college at the same time, the house is likely to feel considerably quieter.
Farah’s emotional post also received messages from several friends from the film industry. Karan Johar called her the “Best mom ever”, while Rhea Kapoor reacted to how quickly the children had grown up.
For Farah, the moment is clearly bittersweet. There is the excitement of seeing her children take their first big step into adulthood, but also the reality of having all three of them move away at once.
Three children. Three campuses. Three new beginnings and, for one emotional mother, three very difficult goodbyes.
