ENHYPEN Heeseung Leaves Group: Solo Career and Future Plans Explained

In a major development for the K-pop industry, The Korea Times has reported that Heeseung, a founding member of the boy band ENHYPEN, is officially leaving the group. The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, by the band’s management agency, Belift Lab, marking the first lineup change for the group since its debut in 2020.

According to a statement from Belift Lab released via the fan platform Weverse, the decision was reached following extensive internal discussions regarding the group’s future objectives and the personal artistic visions of its members. The agency clarified that the 24-year-old vocalist has a “clear musical path” he intends to follow independently. While he is stepping away from the group, Heeseung will remain under the HYBE subsidiary as a solo artist and is currently preparing his debut solo album.

ENHYPEN, originally formed through the survival competition series I-LAND, will transition into a six-member act consisting of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki. As reported by The Korea Times, the group expressed their commitment to maintaining their high-energy performances for their global fanbase, known as ENGENE. In a subsequent heartfelt letter to fans, Heeseung reflected on his six-year journey with his bandmates, describing the time as “overwhelming and precious.” He also acknowledged the shock his departure might cause, asking for fans’ understanding as he pursues long-held personal musical projects.

The remaining members also issued a joint statement through official channels, emphasizing their support for Heeseung’s new beginning and vowing to “grow stronger” to ease the concerns of their supporters. While the departure follows recent high-profile appearances by the group, Belift Lab maintained that the move was the result of deliberate and long-term planning for both the artist and the team’s longevity.
