Eknath Shinde Meets Tiger Shroff After Juhu Firing Incident

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff at his Mumbai residence on Sunday night after a firing incident in Juhu left the actor shaken and raised fresh concerns about the safety of public figures. Shinde assured Shroff and his family that the state government and Mumbai Police would take the matter seriously and act against those responsible.

The visit came hours after unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s vehicle near Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu on Sunday evening, October 18. According to media reports, five rounds were fired as the actor was leaving after playing football. Shroff escaped a direct gunshot injury but sustained minor injuries reportedly caused by gunpowder and glass fragments.

Photographs from Shinde’s visit showed the actor with bandages on his arm and dressings on his shoulder and chest. Speaking to reporters after meeting the family, Shinde confirmed that he had enquired about the actor’s condition and reassured them of the government’s support.

Shinde Condemns Attack, Promises Strict Action

Describing the incident as serious and condemnable, Shinde warned that attempts to intimidate people or revive gang related violence in Mumbai would not be tolerated. He said the authorities were committed to maintaining law and order and protecting citizens, regardless of whether they were celebrities or ordinary residents.

Shinde also indicated that he had communicated with the Mumbai Police leadership regarding the incident. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis separately spoke to Shroff and assured him of swift action, according to media reports.

Driver Among Those Injured

While Shroff avoided a direct bullet injury, his driver sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. Reports also said another person near the actor’s vehicle was injured. The incident prompted a police investigation, with officers examining CCTV footage and working to identify the suspected shooters.

As of the latest reports published on October 19, police had obtained images of two suspects and deployed multiple teams to trace them. No arrests had been confirmed in the reports reviewed for this article.

Gang Involvement Yet to Be Established

A social media post purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the firing. However, investigators had not verified the post’s authenticity, and the motive behind the incident remained under investigation.

Shinde’s visit underscored the seriousness with which the state government is treating the case. The immediate priorities remain identifying the attackers, establishing the motive and ensuring the safety of the Shroff family.

Further developments are expected as the investigation progresses. Until the police establish the facts, claims about the perpetrators or their motives should be treated with caution.
