RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Warns Of Alleged Plot To Destabilise India

Nagpur : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has warned that India is a target of global forces seeking to weaken the country through “regime change” operations, alleging that such efforts are underway in India. India, Hindus, and the Sangh can be dismantled in what manner—this is what the demonic forces contemplate, devise plans for, and act upon.

Due to petty power interests and a lack of wisdom, some ambitious leaders also get involved,” he added. While pointing to the unrest in France, Albania, Bangladesh and Nepal, the RSS chief said that “a storm has blown from the West that seeks to destroy every form of order, decency, well-being, and cultural and human values. Bhagwat alleged that such operations are carried out across the world to ensure that those pursuing their own interests and their “stooges” remain dominant.

Bhagwat also credited India’s younger generation with developing a sense of responsibility towards the country and the world, saying that this effort within society had thwarted the alleged designs of these forces. He stressed that the purpose of such movements should be to find solutions rather than merely register protests. “But why should there be movements? They should be for solutions. The purpose of a movement is a solution.”

In Nagpur, the Sangh chief also said India needs to show the way and set a new metric for development that does not pose adverse consequences for humanity. He said while science and technology will progress, there is a need to ensure ecology and ethics are not overlooked. He also stressed on the need to protect and respect the diversity of India, pointing out that there are diversities in religion, language, food choices. Bhagwat cited the recent floods in Nepal as an example of mismatch between development and maintaining the ecology.

“What happened in Kolkata (stampede deaths) is because of our own fault… but what happened in Nepal was a natural disaster…” he said. He cautioned the entire Himalayan area, which includes India, Nepal and China and said development is creating problems in the area. “A lot of human loss has happened. We have to balance between development and ensuring that the price of development does not mean people dying,” he said.
