Dhurandhar The Revenge Teaser Drops, But Fans Cry ‘Scam’

The blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar has barely concluded its record-breaking theatrical run, yet anticipation for its sequel is already soaring after Ranveer Singh dropped the first official poster and the teaser for Dhurandhar: The Revenge on February 3, 2026.
Directed once again by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is scheduled for a pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Ranveer Singh reprises his dual-role character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, aka Hamza Ali Mazari, in what promises to escalate the high-octane counter-terrorism narrative from the original.
Ranveer unveiled the striking first poster early Tuesday morning via social media, featuring his character standing in pouring rain under intense red lighting that mimics blood streaming down his face. The caption read: “Ab Bigadne Ka Waqt Aa Gaya Hai” (Now is the time to wreak havoc), with the tagline emphasizing revenge against Pakistan’s alleged crimes against India. The post also tagged key cast members including Akshaye Khanna, sparking immediate speculation about a possible flashback appearance for his character Rehman Dakait, who was killed in the first film.
The teaser arrived as promised at 12:12 pm, but it quickly divided audiences. Viewers familiar with the original movie recognized that it contained no new footage—instead, it repurposed the same end-credits montage from Dhurandhar, now paired with dramatic, Night Rider-esque music. Social media reactions poured in, with many fans expressing frustration and disappointment. Comments on platforms like YouTube included: “Yeh toh film ke last mein hi dikhaya gaya tha” (This was already shown at the end of the film) and “Bhai kuch naya upload kardete, ye to already sabne dekh rakha tha” (Should have uploaded something new, everyone has already seen this). Some labeled it a “scam,” while others felt the minimal approach built curiosity without revealing too much.

The original Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, emerged as a massive commercial success. It grossed over ₹1,000 crore net in India, becoming the highest-grossing single-language Hindi film domestically. After an extended theatrical run from its December 5 release into January, it premiered on Netflix last Friday in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Director Aditya Dhar called the OTT debut a “new chapter” for the franchise, while Netflix’s Monika Shergill hailed it as a pop-culture phenomenon now accessible globally.
As the sequel gears up with heightened stakes, the mixed teaser response underscores the enormous expectations riding on this follow-up to one of Bollywood’s biggest recent triumphs.
