Television actress Aditi Sharma, known for shows like Kaleerein, Rabb Se Hai Dua, and Apollena, has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik and two of his family members. An FIR was registered at Mumbai’s Goregaon Police Station on July 31, 2026, naming her husband, mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik (65), and sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik (29). Police have begun investigating the allegations.
According to the complaint, the alleged harassment started soon after the couple’s secret wedding on November 12, 2024, held at their Goregaon residence. Aditi claimed that arguments began over minor issues such as her choice of clothes and later escalated into physical assault, verbal abuse, mental and emotional harassment, and character assassination. She alleged that her husband frequently took money from her instead of contributing to household expenses, checked her phone, accused her of having an affair, and discouraged contact with her parents.
Aditi further accused her mother-in-law of retaining her bridal jewellery (stridhan), including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, mangalsutra, and bangles, despite repeated requests for their return. She stated that her sister-in-law supported her husband during disputes rather than intervening.
The couple, who first met during an online acting class in 2021, had been living together for some time before marrying with family consent. Their relationship reportedly deteriorated within months, leading to earlier reports of separation and mutual complaints. The current case remains under police investigation. No official response from Abhineet Kaushik or his family regarding the latest FIR was immediately available in reports.
The development has once again drawn attention to issues of domestic violence within the entertainment industry.
