Ahmedabad: A brazen assault caught on CCTV has exposed a law-and-order breakdown in the city’s Bapunagar area, where eight men barged into an office and attacked a young man with sticks and sharp weapons in what police say was a revenge attack rooted in an old rivalry. The entire incident was recorded on the office’s CCTV cameras.
What Happened
According to police, the assault was carried out by a group of eight, including Rahul Marathi and Pramod Marathi, who stormed the office of complainant Malkhan Singh Chauhan. Investigators established that the attack was motivated by a previous altercation in the Shaherkotda area of the city. CCTV footage shows the attackers striking Chauhan repeatedly with sticks without restraint.
The Twist
The case took a significant turn during the investigation. Police found that Malkhan Singh Chauhan the man who filed the complaint is himself wanted in a separate criminal case registered at Shaherkotda Police Station. The complaint was submitted by post, and police confirmed that a assault case had been registered against Chauhan at Shaherkotda just days before this incident.
