Direct Ahmedabad–Diu Flight Launched Under UDAN Scheme, Connecting Cities In One Hour

Ahmedabad: In a boost to regional air connectivity and tourism, a direct flight between Ahmedabad and Diu has been launched under the Government of India’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. The service commenced on Friday, May 16, offering travelers a convenient one-hour air link between the two destinations.

Operated by Star Air, the flight uses a 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft. It departs Ahmedabad at 9:50 AM and arrives in Diu at 10:50 AM. The return flight takes off from Diu at 11:20 AM, landing in Ahmedabad at 12:20 PM. As part of its inaugural offer, the airline is offering promotional fares starting at ₹1,499.

Diu, a popular summer destination, has become the 25th location connected through regional air routes. The service is expected to benefit not only tourists but also the sizable NRI population in the region, providing easier access and reducing travel time significantly. The flight operates five days a week, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This launch marks another step forward in making air travel affordable and accessible to underserved regions across the country.
