Junagadh Rain: Flooding Washes Away Keshod-Mangrol NH-51, Rescue Operations Save 29 People in Mendarda and Manavadar

Junagadh: Torrential rainfall has triggered severe flood-like conditions across Gujarat’s Junagadh district, forcing authorities to shut the Keshod-Mangrol stretch of National Highway-51 (NH-51) and launch multiple rescue operations in flood-hit areas. Several people stranded in rising floodwaters in Mendarda and Manavadar were safely evacuated by emergency response teams.
Keshod-Mangrol NH-51 Closed After Flood Damage
Heavy rainfall in the Keshod and Mangrol regions caused floodwaters to overflow near Husainabad on National Highway-51 (NH-51). The strong water current caused significant damage to the highway, prompting authorities to completely suspend vehicular movement on the affected stretch as a precautionary measure.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Rajkot, has begun repair work on the damaged road on a war footing.
Alternative Route Issued for Motorists
Authorities have advised motorists travelling from Somnath to Dwarka to use National Highway-151 and National Highway-27 via the Somnath–Jetpur–Porbandar–Dwarka route until the damaged section of NH-51 is restored.
