Footage Shows WWE Vince McMahon Driving At 115 MPH Before 2025 Connecticut Highway Crash

Newly released Connecticut State Police dash and body-worn camera footage has offered a striking look at a high-speed highway crash involving former WWE chairman Vince McMahon that occurred in July 2025 on Route 15, near Exit 15 in Westport, Connecticut.

The video shows the 80-year-old McMahon behind the wheel of a 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, weaving through northbound traffic on the Merritt Parkway at speeds troopers estimated reached nearly 115 mph (approximately 185 km/h) before the vehicle rear-ended a BMW. The force of the collision sent both cars into a wooden guardrail, scattering debris across the roadway. The Bentley came to rest on the shoulder, visibly mangled and emitting smoke.

Bodycam audio captured McMahon’s exchange with a responding state trooper at the scene. When questioned about his speed, McMahon explained he was en route to his granddaughter’s birthday and acknowledged he had not driven the high-performance vehicle in “God knows how long.” The trooper noted the excessive speed and asked whether McMahon had noticed police lights ahead, to which McMahon maintained he was not attempting to flee. At one point, McMahon was heard muttering to himself, “God damn it, stupid f***ing fool.”

The driver of the BMW, identified as Barbara Doran, shared her account on social media before later deleting the post. She said McMahon’s vehicle struck her car at high speed and “catapulted” it more than 100 yards (roughly 90 metres), adding that she narrowly avoided serious injury.

Court records show McMahon was cited for misdemeanour reckless driving and following too closely following the crash. In October 2025, a Connecticut judge admitted him into a pretrial diversion programme. As part of the arrangement, McMahon made a $1,000 charitable donation and agreed to maintain valid licensing and insurance. If he completes the programme without further incidents, the charges are set to be dismissed in October 2026.

No one sustained serious injuries in the crash, and McMahon declined medical attention at the scene. The release of the footage, alongside the court outcome, has renewed public debate around road safety, high-speed driving on public highways, and the handling of cases involving high-profile defendants.
