Two Dead As Car Washed Away Near Ranpur Taluka Of Botad, 4 Rescued; 1 BAPS Saint Is Still Missing

Botad : A horrific accident took place late at night near Godhavata village in Ranpur taluka. Car, which was going from Bochasan to the famous pilgrimage destination of Sarangpur, got caught in the fast flowing water while passing through the causeway. In this accident, two of the seven people travelling in the car died, one Swami went missing, while four others were rescued safely.

Barwala Provincial Officer S.V. Chaudhary said that yesterday, car with seven people inside it. They were trying to cross the Godhavata causeway where the water flow was too high. The car got stuck while trying to cross it. Four of them survived and three people got stuck with the car. The bodies of two of them have been found. They have been sent for postmortem. While one person is still missing.

The NDRF team has started working for him. Apart from this, an aerial survey has been done by drone up to a distance of one kilometer. According to preliminary information, there were a total of seven people in the car, including a Swami of the BAPS Swaminarayan sect. The bodies of two people named Krishnakant Pandya and Prabuddha Kasiya, about 10 years old, have been found in this incident. However, Shanta Charit Swami is still missing and a large-scale search operation is underway to find him.

As soon as the incident was reported, the Barwala Provincial Officer, Mamlatdar and high-ranking officers of the police department immediately rushed to the spot. They started the rescue operation and the search for the missing saint. Considering the seriousness of the situation, a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been called to the spot. The NDRF team is working intensively in the water flow to search for the missing Swami with sophisticated equipment and skilled manpower.
