
An unfortunate incident has taken place near the Deendayal Port of Kandla. A blast took place in a ship which was returning after unloading chemicals out into the sea. The ship was of Hong Kong. There were reportedly 21 crew members in the ship. Luckily, no casualties have been reported due to the blast.
Apparently, the ship was returning to Outer Tuna Buoy after unloading chemicals into the sea, when the explosion took place. Due to which, the ship tilted to one side as the oil tank present in it burst. Efforts were made to straighten the ship, but in vain.
As the incident took place, the Coast Guard and the Port Authority reached the location immediately and started rescue operations. A total of 21 crew members were present on the ship, all of whom were rescued safely. No casualties have been reported till now. However, the cause of the blast, which took place suddenly, is unknown.
