All-Women Security Cover PM Modi’s Gujarat Event on Women’s Day

Gandhinagar – For International Women’s Day on March 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event in Navsari district will feature a unique security setup managed entirely by female police officers—a first for India, according to a state minister.

Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi explained that women police personnel will be responsible for the entire security operation. They will secure the event from the moment PM Modi arrives at the helipad in Vansi Borsi village until he reaches the venue. The security team will include IPS officers, constables, and other ranks.

During his two-day visit to Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, PM Modi is scheduled to speak at the ‘Lakhpti Didi Sammelan’ at Vansi Borsi village on March 8. On that day, more than 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 police inspectors, 16 deputy superintendents, five SPs, one Inspector General, and one Additional DGP rank officer will handle the security details.

Senior woman IPS officer and Home Secretary Nipuna Torawane will oversee the entire operation. This initiative not only enhances security but also sends a strong message on Women’s Day about the significant role of women in maintaining safety and security in Gujarat.
