In recent days, Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana has been at the center of intense public attention. On Sunday, amid preparations for her wedding to Palash Muchhal, Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden heart attack, prompting his immediate hospitalization. This unforeseen medical emergency forced the postponement of the couple’s nuptials.
Shrinivas Mandhana has since been released from the hospital, with physicians describing his condition as fully stable. Medical assessments revealed no blockages in his arteries, and the angiography results came back normal, offering relief to the family and supporters alike.
According to Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, the episode unfolded abruptly during breakfast when Shrinivas’s health deteriorated rapidly. Initially, the family hoped for a quick recovery, but as symptoms worsened, an ambulance was summoned to rush him to medical care. Mishra emphasized the close bond between Smriti and her father, noting that the wedding would not proceed until he achieves complete recovery. Consequently, the ceremony has been deferred indefinitely.

The delay has left fans anxious, compounded by Mandhana’s decision to remove all pre-wedding photos and videos from her Instagram account. Fellow Team India cricketer Jemima Rodrigues and several others followed suit, deleting related posts. Neither the Mandhana nor Muchhal families have issued any announcement regarding a revised date, fueling rampant speculation and rumors across social media platforms.
Adding to the uncertainty, Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital shortly after, reportedly due to mounting stress from extensive travel, concert commitments, and wedding arrangements. Details on his health status remain undisclosed.
As the situation unfolds, the silence from both sides has only heightened the intrigue surrounding what was anticipated to be a joyous union. For now, the focus remains on recovery, with no further updates forthcoming.
