Gujarat Cabinet Expansion : List of 26 Ministers of Gujarat Government Announced, Amrutiya, Modhwadia Are New Faces

Gandhinagar : The new cabinet of Gujarat has been officially announced. In which 26 ministers including CM Bhupendra Patel have been made. Amrutiya, Modhwadia, Vaghani, Rivaba, Darshana Vaghela are new faces in the list. The new cabinet of Gujarat state will take oath at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today, Friday, October 17 at 11:30 am. Governor Acharya Devvrat will administer the oath to all the ministers.

New Ministers List

Praful Panseria, Kuwarjibhai Bawaliya, Rishikesh Patel, Kanu Desai, Parasotam Solanki, Harsh Sanghvi, Pradyuman Vaja, Naresh Patel, P C Baranda, Arjun Modhwadia, Kanti Amrutia, Kaushik Vekaria, Swaroopji Thakor, Darshanaben Vaghela, Jitubhai Vaghani, Reevaba Jadeja, Dr. Jayaram Gamit, Trikambhai Chhanga, Ishwarsinh Patel, Manisha Vakil, Pravin Mali, Swaroopji Thakor, Sanjaysinh Mahida, Kamlesh Patel, Raman Solanki

The Chief Minister himself called and informed the repeated ministers and said that we are with you, you have to take the oath. Then the new ministers were informed by Gujarat BJP state president Jagdish Vishwakarma who called and informed them. Yesterday, the meeting between the Chief Minister and the Governor was cancelled at the last minute. However, this meeting can take place today at 9 am. The Chief Minister will submit the resignations of the old cabinet to the Governor and provide information about the new ministers. It is worth mentioning that on October 16, all 16 ministers of the Bhupendra Patel government had resigned.

The cabinet has been expanded a total of 28 times since the first assembly elections were held in Gujarat in 1962. This does not include the new cabinet formed after winning the elections. Interestingly, 16 cabinet expansions have taken place in August, September and October after the formation of the government. In September 1965 when Hitendra Desai became the Chief Minister in place of Balwant Rai. It was also expanded in August 1973 when Chimanbhai became the Chief Minister, in August 1985 and October 1990.

The cabinet changed 7 times in October 1995 when Suresh Mehta replaced Keshubhai and in October 1996 when Shankarsinh became the Chief Minister, in October 1997 when Dilip Parikh came, in October 2001 when Modi came, in 2003 and 2006 as well.
