When Is Tim Cook’s Last Day As Apple CEO? Future Plans Revealed

Tim Cook, who has led Apple since 2011, is set to step down from his role as CEO on September 1, 2026, marking the end of a 15-year tenure at the helm of one of the world’s most valuable companies. The leadership transition has been described as part of a long-term succession plan approved by the company’s board. 

Cook will continue serving as CEO through the summer months, working closely with his successor, John Ternus, to ensure a smooth and stable transition. Ternus, currently Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, has played a significant role in the development of key products and is expected to carry forward the company’s vision. 

After stepping down, Cook will take on the role of executive chairman of Apple’s board. In this position, he will remain actively involved in guiding the company’s broader strategy and engaging with policymakers globally.
