Microsoft Copilot Now “For Entertainment Purposes Only”- Use At Your Own Risk, Says Updated Terms

Microsoft has recently changed its policy regarding usage of its AI chatbot Copilot. The Redmond giant has now stated that Microsoft has designed copilot only for “entertainment purposes only.” and make use of “Copilot only at your own risk !”

Copilot was launched with the aim of increasing productivity via Microsoft’s 365 suite of apps such as powerpoint, excel, etc. The company focused on customers to make use of this tool for enhanced and effective productivity in the past.

So why does this change?

Nobody knows the exact reason behind this move but officially this change was made during October last year as per the Microsoft website.

Large Language Models (LLMs) like OpenAI’s GPT or Anthropic’s Claude cant give out hundred percent correct information everytime. there are chances of hallucinations which may create blunder at times that still remains a problem in this AI world. Microsoft’s updated terms highlight that the company is still cautious about its potential over errors made by AI.

By this smart move, the company seeks to escape any legal fight that may come up while rendering any wrongful information to the users.
