Kishan’s Maiden Century And Arshdeep’s Five-Wicket Haul Power India To 46-Run Win Over New Zealand in 5th T20I

India defeated New Zealand by 46 runs in the fifth and final T20I in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. Chasing 272 runs, India bowled out New Zealand for 225 in 19.4 overs, as Arshdeep Singh took a fifer and Axar Patel took three wickets.

Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in the 12th over, removing Rachin Ravindra (30) and Mitchell Santner (0), and it was huge turning point. Finn Allen gave New Zealand a strong start, building on his BBL form. He smacked 80 off 38 balls, laced with eight fours and six sixes. Allen lost his wicket to Axar, who also removed Glenn Phillips (7). Meanwhile, opener Tim Seifert departed in the first over, departing for five off three balls.

Initially, Ishan Kishan got his maiden ton as India reached 271/5 in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav, who got his half-century, lost his wicket in the 15th over, departing for 63 off 30 balls. Abhishek smacked 30 off 16 balls and lost his wicket in the fifth over to Lockie Ferguson. Abhishek’s opening partner, Samson, once again found it tough as his poor form continued. The CSK batter departed for six off six balls, losing his wicket to Lockie Ferguson.

Initially, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat against New Zealand.
