Mumbai: The players’ auction for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
For the third consecutive year, the auction for the world’s biggest cricket league will take place overseas.
This time, a one-day mini auction has been scheduled, while the trading window remains open for teams to continue exchanging players.

All franchises must submit their list of retained and released players to the IPL Governing Council by 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 15.
The trading window will remain open until a week before the auction, and then reopen after the auction — continuing until the start of the IPL season. However, once a player is purchased at the auction, no franchise will be allowed to trade that player through the window.
