When a Child on the Field Had Some Fun With Another Child!

New Delhi: Fifteen-year-old left-handed batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi is still very much a child himself, and his playful nature on the field is often seen by both his teammates and spectators. But something different happened in Delhi on Tuesday, when Vaibhav was seen having some fun with another child. Photos and a video of the incident have gone viral.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi earned a place in the Rajasthan Royals squad at the age of 13 during the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in November 2024. In the 2025 IPL season, he smashed a century off just 35 balls, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s record of 37 balls for the fastest century by an Indian batter. Vaibhav took his performances to another level in 2026, scoring a total of 776 runs during the season with a flurry of sixes and fours. His tally was the highest among the star players, including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, and he went on to win the Player of the Tournament award. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also lifted the 2026 IPL trophy.

Coming back to Tuesday’s incident, before the start of the second T20I against Afghanistan in Delhi, Vaibhav was standing in line with his teammates during the national anthem. Each player had a child standing alongside them. As everyone was getting into position, Vaibhav grabbed the opportunity to have some fun with the child standing next to him. He affectionately pulled the child’s cheeks several times. Shivam Dube, who was standing beside him, gestured to Vaibhav to stand properly and maintain discipline.

Over the past two years, fans have seen glimpses of Vaibhav’s playful side during his IPL stint, and now during international matches and inside the dressing room as well. But on Tuesday, it was Vaibhav himself who caught everyone’s attention by sharing a light-hearted moment with a child.

In another video, Vaibhav was seen showing his biceps to Shivam Dube, who was standing beside him, apparently comparing their arms. The caption on the video read: “Kya fayda itna Gym karne ka, barabar hi to hai.”
