ㅤ
Despite the rainy and humid conditions in Japan on Saturday, Prachi did not lose confidence and remained focused on her race. After winning the bronze medal for India, she told reporters, “I am extremely proud of winning this medal. Many people used to criticise me, saying that I could perform well only in hurdle races. But by winning a medal in the 400m race, I have proved them wrong. I had practised extensively in rainy conditions, so I had no difficulty running in such weather here.”

Prachi Chaudhary, a 30-year-old athlete from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, has reached the top level of Indian athletics after her family made immense sacrifices for her career. As a youngster, Prachi practised running on the roads of Saharanpur and began competing at local events. After winning one race after another, she progressed to district- and state-level competitions before eventually competing at the national level.
