Pacer Harshit Rana has been added to the squad for the 3rd and final ODI against Afganistan, the BCCI confirmed on Friday.
Rana, 24, was last in seen in India colours in January against the Kiwis, before being ruled out by an untimely knee injury that saw him miss his first T20 WC. He also missed the entire 2026 IPL season. Rana underwent successful lateral meniscus repair surgery on his right knee in February. He sustained the ligament strain during a T20 World Cup warm-up match.
Rana was added to the squad for the T20I series against England and Ireland and the Asian Games slated to be held in Japan, but may see an earlier comeback if he’s picked for the final ODI against Afganistan. Rana was undergoing rehab at BCCI’S Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru.
India have already taken an unassaliable lead against the Afghans, winning the first 2 ODI’s comfortably. The last ODI is scheduled for 20th June at Chennai.
